I’ve always believed good websites start with understanding people.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I’m Laura - a web designer with over 17 years’ experience in digital, e-commerce and web design, from international luxury brands to small businesses finding their feet online.

Today, I bring everything I’ve learned into creating thoughtful, considered websites that feel right for the businesses behind them.

In the background, there is a large beige vase with green foliage, a piece of abstract artwork, and a table with bowls.

I didn’t exactly plan on becoming a web designer.

MY STORY

I started my career in customer service for Scottish cashmere brand Brora. Not long after starting, an opportunity arose in IT. An IT secondment which was supposed to be just that - a secondment. However I never went back.

I found my way into web content, learning from Brora’s Web Content Manager before gradually moving further into e-commerce, email and digital marketing. Over the years I worked my way up to Web Team Leader, helping launch the brand online in the US and re-platforming internal systems.

In 2017, I moved into consultancy, working with luxury brands including Vivienne Westwood while also creating digital content for names including Dell, Clarins, Kendra Scott and Philosophy.

Somewhere alongside all of that, I started building websites for small businesses - and realised just how much I loved helping people take what existed in their heads and turn it into something real online.

THE JOURNEY

After redundancy during the pandemic, I co-founded a digital commerce business focused on helping start-ups and small businesses get online.

Eventually life took us in different directions, and I went on to create LDG Digital - continuing to support existing clients and taking on a small number of new projects around a growing family.

After stepping away for a while to focus on raising my children, I found myself drawn back to website design. Only this time, I knew much more clearly what I wanted the business to be.

By Laura Georgewill is the result.

A smaller, more personal way of working. Thoughtful design, genuine collaboration and websites built around the individual business - not a signature style or a one-size-fits-all process.

Your website is your shopfront to the world.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Whether you’re selling a product, offering a service or building something entirely your own, your website is often where someone meets your business for the first time.

I love helping clients work out what they want that first impression to say.

You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. Some of my favourite projects start with half-formed ideas, screenshots, thoughts and lots of “I’m not quite sure, but…”. We talk, bounce ideas around and gradually find the visual direction and voice that feels like you.

Then I get to bring it all to life.

Beautiful shouldn’t mean complicated

MY APPROACH

One of my biggest frustrations with web design is seeing businesses left with websites they’re afraid to touch.

I don’t believe you should need to contact your designer every time you want to change a photograph, update some text or add something new.

That’s why I build with usability in mind and show you how to manage your website yourself. If you’d rather hand the updates back to me, I’m always happy to help - but it should be a choice, not something you’re locked into.

And I won’t drown you in technical jargon along the way. You don’t need to understand web design. That’s my job.

I’m Laura.
Wife, mum of four, lover of quiet places and someone who will choose the sea over a busy city every time.

AWAY FROM THE SCREEN

I love early sunrises, beaches, people watching and simple spaces. I’m a huge believer in visualisation and law of attraction, and I absolutely love seeing others achieve their dreams in life.

Perhaps that’s why I’m drawn to this work too - taking something someone can see in their mind and helping them make it come to life.

A beige textured stone surface with a large ceramic vase, a linen cloth, and a sprig of greenery, with sunlight creating reflections on the wall and water.

Tell me what you’re thinking.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. Tell me a little about your business, where you are now and where you’d like to take it.
